ORKNEY'S young sports teams are trailing Shetland after four of the
Junior Inter-County events have taken place in Lerwick today, Sunday.
Shetland won the swimming 63-31 in the morning, with many records
broken in an exciting series of races at the Clickimin Pool. Shetland
set most of the new times, but Morna Brown did get one record for
Orkney, setting a new time in the butterfly.
The hosts won the athletics 107-87, however Orkney athletes set 11 personal bests during the competition.
The football also went Shetland's way, by 2-0, with Orkney hitting the bar but unable to score.
However, fortunes changed with Orkney winning the final event of the day, the netball, by 40-34.
It means Shetland lead by 214 points to 158 overnight.
The final event, the hockey, is due to take place at Brae with an 11am start on Monday.
