Orkney RFC can win league title on Saturday

ORKNEY RFC can secure the league title in Caledonia Division 1 - and
promotion to National 3 - this weekend if they can beat
second-placed Strathmore RFC with a bonus point.
A Scottish Rugby spokesman confirmed this afternoon that the league
leaders need only one win and one bonus point from their two remaining
fixtures - away to Strathmore in Forfar on Saturday, an at home to
Kinross RFC on May 15. A win gives a team four points, with the extra bonus point secured through scoring four or more tries.
The situation follows Crieff & Strathearn RFC's confirmation
yesterday that they are withdrawing from the league, with their results
now withdrawn from the competition.
It means Orkney now have 87 points, including 15 bonus points, from the
18 fixtures that now count in the title chase. Strathmore's total
is 76 points from 17 fixtures, including 12 bonus points.
